BREDON Rugby Club's junior section travelled to Malvern last Sunday when the minis and midis entertained the Worcestershire club at home.
The Under-13s faced a triangular fixture with Dursley and Malvern and defea- ted the former 14-0 in the first match when Paul Merchant and Simon Harkness scored tries both converted by Scott Bunch.
It got even better second time around when Malvern were defeated 27-0 with captain Will Graulich scoring the first try.
A second was run in by Chris Saxby for a 10-0 half-time lead after which Grau-lich scored and Bunch ahead of further tries from Harkness and Ross Att-wood.
The Under-14s lost out 19-17 to Malvern after a tough physical encounter.
Matt Everett (2), and James Aris crossed the opp-osition line, while Dodge Antonelli added a single conversion.
New players are settling in well to this developing side and any newcomers wishing to trial for the Buzzards is welcome at the village playing fields at 10am on Sunday.
The Under-9s were in action against Malvern and recorded a 15-5 victory thanks to scores from Jack Tharme (2) and Dan White.
In a second match Tim Fenney bagged a hat-trick in a 25-5 success.
Danny Barber's speed told as he scored two tries, while Nick Costa set a high standard of tackling that helped contain the opposition to one score.
The Under-10s scored in the opening minutes of a 25-0 win over Malvern through Joe Carolan.
In the second half Bredon opened up their play with tries coming from Joe Taylor, Rory McGuigan, Brandon Wain and Charlie Farmer.
In a second game, Bredon scored in the first half through Carolan (2), Taylor and Ben Vincent.
A more evenly matched second half brought no further tries and the Buzzards had to settle for a 20-0 margin of victory.
