The president welcomed members and a number of visitors with the good news that a volunteer has been found to assist the secretary, making it possible for us to continue. Another member has already offered to take over as treasurer in the coming year.
After the usual business and correspondence the speaker, Mrs EM Freeman was introduced. Her subject was collage and she gave us an extraordinary range of examples, covering different materials and various styles. The specimens were all packed in a small box which seemed like Aladdin's cave, as more and more collages emerged from the depths. Members were so fascinated that it was agreed that the social time next month would take the form of a collage picture making session with all the ladies bringing scissors. The president will provide felt off-cuts. Mrs Freeman was warmly thanked, and tea and biscuits were served.
The next meeting will be the AGM on Wednesday, November 2, when an advisor from headquarters will be with us.
