The annual general meeting of Chaddesley Corbett WI was held on Wednesday, October 5, at the village hall.
The evening commenced with the singing of Jerusalem followed by the business of the evening, including announcements of forthcoming events which included outings to Jonathons Restaurant and London.
The lunch club was due to be held at the Cross Keys, Ombersley, last Wednesday. Next month the lunch will be held at Ashwoods Nursery on Thursday, November 10, at 12.30pm.
President Barbara Maskell thanked Christine Hickman-Smith for all her hard work celebrating 90 years of the WI.
A tea party was held afterwards in St Cassians Church with approximately 60 members taking part.
The AGM followed with the year's reports provided by treasurer Marion Richards, secretary Joyce Rowthorn and president Barbara Maskell.
Barbara said how much she had enjoyed the past year and thanked all members for their support, particularly members of the committee.
The new committee members are Barbara Evans, Judy Fitzpatrick, Teresa Forgul-Jenkin, Anna Hanson, Christine Hickman-Smith, Christine Kendrick, Barbara Maskell, Maureen McCallum, Rosabelle Needham, Jo Powick, Sue Qiubell, Rosemary Reynolds, Marion Richards and Jill Taylor.
Barbara Maskell was elected president to unanimous applause.
The election of the president was overseen by Janice Jones, a WI advisor. She gave a short talk about her experiences at the National Council Meeting and the importance of the national database.
Social time and refreshments completed a very successful and enjoyable evening.
The next meeting of Chaddesley Corbett WI will be held at the village hall at 7.30pm on Tuesday, November 1.
