NOT content with county council-taxpayers subsidising the Worcester park-and-ride white elephant, to the tune of a revenue cost of £250,000 per year, plus debt charges on this £3m "investment" in wasteful ineptitude, we county council taxpayers are to be further humiliated.
Clearly, the Birmingham disease is taking root in Worcestershire.
"Where were you last night mummy?" "Oh, grandma and I went to the Swan Theatre, to see a show" (Truth: "We joined other disgusting old bags, to ogle male bodies"). And all this at an establishment supposed to be engaged in enhancing the county's image, encouraging decent human beings to visit Worcestershire!
"Are you taking daddy to the theatre next time mummy?" "Daddy is treating us all next time. We only wish we could take you with us darling. (Truth: "We are joining other middle-aged and elderly adolescents, at a cultural experience favoured by celebrated low-life in the theatre world, when professional performers make shapes from their private parts").
Should we be surprised by the moral, social and economic decadence, reported in our Worcester News daily? I am reminded of the words of the eminent Professor Hans Eysenck, who said in 1972: "If television advertising is effective and there is little doubt that it is, why should television be less effective when it advertises lax morals, cruelty and violence, promiscuity, permissive behaviour generally?" For TV, substitute the media, or theatre.
