FLOODS caused by torrential downpours created havoc across Bromsgrove.
The heavy bursts of rain last Wednesday evening caused chaos on the roads, and damage to properties across the town.
Marlbrook Lane, in Lickey, was hit after a stream overflowed and the area was also clogged with mud from a nearby old tip.
Kevin Keeling, who's garage was flooded out, said: "The drains cannot cope with all the water and the mud coming from the tip.
"It's not the first time this has happened. We want something sorted about this flood water. It should be going down the drain."
Two cars were trapped in the floods at the island near Morrisons on the A38 at around 5.15pm. A fire engine was called to help clear the danger at the well-known flood spot.
Tailbacks of an hour and a half were caused as a result.
The fire service was also forced into action at around 4.30pm when it rescued a couple from a car after they were trapped in floods on Agmore Road, Blackwell.
Firefighters were also sent to pump water and ensure the safety of electricity supplies, after garage and kitchen floods in Pine Grove, Lickey, Pine Grove Road in Rednal, and various properties in the Alvechurch area, including a residential home in Buckley's Green.
Part of Orchard Road in Sidemoor was cordoned off last Thursday after heavy rain the night before caused a nine inch sewer to collapse, leaving a 6ft deep hole.
