REDDITCH MP Jacqui Smith is inviting residents to join her for a Ruby Murray in aid of good causes.
Ms Smith will be hosting a dinner at the Akash Restaurant on Unicorn Hill on Sunday, November 13, to raise cash for the Where Next Association and the South Asia earthquake appeal.
In return for a £15 donation, curry fans can enjoy a free buffet dinner in the company of Ms Smith. There will be two sittings- at 6.30pm and 8.45pm- as well as raffles and an auction to boost the coffers.
"The owner of the Akash has generously offered to provide the venue and food for this important event. I originally thought I would raise money for the Where Next building appeal but then the earthquake in south Asia struck. So now we will put on an extra sitting and split the proceeds," said Ms Smith.
"It will be great to make money for these good causes and share a good night out with friends at the same time."
Akash owner Akil Choudrey said: "The earthquake in southern Asia was a disaster and I want to do what I can to help the victims but also I want to do something for Redditch.
"I have had my restaurant in Redditch for 26 years and I want to give something back to the town.
''Where Next has been operating in Redditch for more than 20 years too and it is a great organisation.
"I am delighted our MP will be hosting the event."
Anyone wishing to book a place at the dinner can send a cheque for £15 per person, payable to the Akash, to 31-33 Unicorn Hill, Redditch.
Please mark envelopes charity dinner.
