Pershore 10, Ludlow 0

A CONFIDENT Pershore team ran out emphatic winners in their second match of the Coaching Solutions West Midlands Division Two season.

Ludlow, themselves handsome winners the previous weekend, were simply swept aside by a Pershore team that played with accuracy and discipline.

The team performance was underlined by the fact that five players shared the goals - two from defender Gareth Rushton, one each for midfielders Vincent Crawley and Toby Whiting, two from right half Jamie Hughes and four to centre forward Richard Lisle.

The BizzEnergy sponsored team smashed in five goals in each half, converting well-worked short corners and rarely missing from open play. They travel to Kingswinford on Saturday and have a rearranged fixture against Aston University the next day so they will be hoping for a continuation of this excellent form.

The second team was without a game as their scheduled opponents have pulled out of the league.

Pershore III 5,

Kingswinford III 1

PERSHORE'S first win of the season was a product of good teamwork and a number of fine individ- ual performances.

The game started scrappily with both teams struggling to dominate the midfield battle.

A training ground move executed by Luke Dalley and expertly finished by Martin Thomas brought Pershore broke the deadlock.

The hosts went on to dominate the rest of the first half and excellent hockey was rewarded when Thomas scored his second goal.

Kingswinford changed formation at the interval after which the game became scrappy.

The home forwards, though, got on top and good work from Liam Rid-ings gifted Thomas his hat-trick.

The fourth goal came from a right wing cross that was expertly finished by Graham Handley.

As the time ticked down, Dalley rifled in a fifth goal from the edge of the D but Pershore became slightly over confident and Kingswinford were rewarded for their efforts with a consolation goal.
