A PAIR of tortoises stolen from a Batchley aquatic and reptile shop could die if they are not properly cared for, police have warned.
The Hermann's tortoises, both about a year old, are worth about £300 in total and were taken from Aqua Sinatics shop in Poplar Road between Friday, October 14 and Monday, October 17.
They are small brown-coloured tortoises. One was three-four ins long and the other was four-five ins long.
Shop partner Rebecca Robbins said: "We're concerned for their welfare.
"They're only young and require a lot of care and attention, including a special ultraviolet light and heat source under which they bask.
"If the person who stole them does not have the right equipment they will not survive the winter and we're appealing to the person who stole them to return them to us.
Alternatively, they can handed in at another pet shop or veterinary surgery."
Anyone with information should call Redditch police on 08457 444888 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
