ALCESTER residents can take advantage of a new planning service on offer from Stratford District Council.
Planning applications can now be submitted through the internet as part of a plan to improve services, and it is hoped this will save time and cost involved in creating and posting paper plans.
Councillor Stuart Beese, portfolio holder for planning, said it would also be possible to search current applications and planning histories of sites via the internet.
"And members of the public will be able to view part of our planning database, including information on applications as far back as 1974," he said.
He said the website included a list of frequently asked questions (FAQs) and by the end of the year further improvements would allow people to view all new applications together with plans, reports, correspondence and other information.
