WORCESTER wing Kim Shaylor claimed a hat-trick of tries as England Women secured a 53-0 win over Manusina Samoa.
The England side was captained by another Worcester player, scrum-half Jo Yapp, for the game in Auckland, New Zealand.
England started in spectacular fashion with three early tries from Shaylor, Sue Day and Charlotte Barras. Saracens fly-half Karen Andrew converted twice.
After some more hard-hitting encounters in the loose, England were able to put the building blocks in place to form some solid attacking moves and the in-form Shaylor took advantage with a quick brace of tries.
With Andrew adding a penalty from 25 metres, the tourists established a healthy half-time lead.
But the feisty Samoans didn't tire after the re-start and England were forced to bring on replacements.
Selena Rudge, Danielle Waterman and Barras all added late tries to secure victory.
Shaylor's heroics have earned her the captaincy when England face an Invitational New Zealand XV tomorrow. Worcester's 18-year-old fly-half Alice Richardson wins her first cap, while team-mate Nicky Crawford starts on the wing.
Shaylor said: "I am very excited to be selected as captain.
"I must admit I was a bit surprised but I am really looking forward to the opportunity."
