A FAMOUS food writer will be advising people on how to get out of a kitchen pickle when she becomes the face of a Pershore company.
Tamasin Day-Lewis, famed for her writing and her recipes, has joined forces with Garner's Pickles. The Cobham Road pickles and chutneys maker is delighted with its new signing.
"We have all been in the situation where people come over and we have nothing in the cupboards that we believe constitutes an acceptable "meal" - dried pasta, a tin of canned tomatoes and a jar of pickles doesn't necessarily make for an exciting dinning experience, or does it?
"When we are stuck for ingredients and need inspiration we often turn to Tamasin for tricks of the trade. She is widely regarded as one of the great food writers of our time.
"Her passion for her subject shines through both her writing and her recipes, which are invariably imaginative, easy to follow and, most importantly, fail-safe."
Tamasin has written for many newspapers and magazines, including the Daily Telegraph, the Financial Times and Vanity Fair. She has written six of her own cook books including Tamasin's Weekend Food, The Art Of The Tart and the critically acclaimed Tamasin's Kitchen Bible.
Garner's grew from humble beginnings - a fruit and vegetable market stall in the heart of the Vale of Evesham.
Using fresh produce, the firm developed unique recipes from the kitchen of a Pershore primary school. The first product, 'Apple & Onion Sweet Chutney,' soon became much in demand by local delicatessens and speciality food shops.
Now the business has moved to the outskirts of Pershore and even has a vegetable expert who travels throughout the UK and Europe to find the best quality ingredients for Garner's - a man who certainly knows his onions.
Tamasin said: "I am delighted to be joining forces with such a well-known firm."
