IT was third time lucky for Worcestershire's Hannah Talbot at the national Young Farmers competition at Stoneleigh Park.
For two years, the 18-year-old, who is a member of the Cutnall Green club, had been runner-up in the Junior Member of the Year competition.
But 2005 proved to be her year, as she triumphed against opposition from all over the country.
A student in the Sixth Form of Droitwich High School, Hannah won the Worcestershire round in January and then the West Midland Area in March, so her wait for the national title has been a long one.
"It was fantastic to win," she said, "but really it is a reflection on the club as a whole, because I couldn't have done it without everyone's support."
This was a last chance for Hannah in the junior section, as next year she will be too old.
"It was just in time," she laughed.
Competitors had to produce a portfolio of their time in YFC, what they enjoy doing and what they achieve and get out of the organisation, plus photographs, certificates and prizes.
Hannah, who lives at Elmley Lovett, near Droitwich, has been a Young Farmer for four years.
Cutnall Green YFC is holding a new members evening on Wednesday, October 26, at Cutnall Green Memorial Hall, at 8pm. For more information call Karen Audis on 07940 185551.
