DERBY and Joan Club will be holding a bring and buy sale at Chevenham tomorrow (Saturday) from 10am to noon. There will be a cake stall and raffle. Admission is 20p. If you have any unwanted items, contact Adele on 07708 981225 to arrange collection.
A reminder about the village quiz on Friday, November 4, at the village hall. Each team requires four members and £5 to enter. There will be a bar and raffle.
Tickets are now on sale for the next production by the Colwall Players, which is Blithe Spirit by Noel Coward. This is from Thursday to Saturday, October 27-29, at 7.30pm at the village hall. Tickets available from John Goodwin estate agents. This will also be taken on tour to the Conquest Theatre, Bromyard on Friday and Saturday, November 4-5. Tickets on (01885) 488575.
Last Friday evening at St James' Church, a celebration of the priesting of Anne Lanyon Hogg took place. Anne celebrated her first Eucharist and this was followed by a harvest supper in the village hall.
Macmillan Cancer Relief will be holding a whist drive in the village hall on October 21 starting at 8pm.
A self-employment awareness day is coming to this area on Wednesday, October 19, and Wednesday, November 16. Topics include explanation of a free business start-up programme and help and support with a business idea.
