POWICK'S Worcester Saturday premier division game ended in frustration after they had looked set to claim three valuable points but had to settle for a 3-3 draw with Hallow WMC.
POWICK 3, HALLOW WMC 3
Stu Harvey opened the scoring for Powick before Hallow hit them with a quick double. Goals either side of half-time by Dean Drinkwater looked to have sealed the points but a penalty provided Hallow with a last-gasp equaliser.
Despite their disappointment, Powick will be looking to make amends tomorrow (Saturday) with a local derby against Hanley Swan.
WEST MALVERN 0, VBL SPORTS 2
WEST Malvern were defeated 2-0 at home by VBL Sports in the battle of the top two unbeaten Worcester Saturday division one sides which was played in torrential rain.
Following a scoreless first-half, West Malvern made changes and created plenty of chances but could not put them away. They paid dearly for this in the final ten minutes when VBL Sports scored twice.
Tomorrow (Saturday), West Malvern, sponsored by Amey and the Cross Keys, entertain Pershore Manor Reserves, players meet 2.15pm at dressing room.
POWICK 1, PRINNER SPORTS 3
POWICK went into this Worcester Sunday division one game at home to Prinner Sports in need of three points to consolidate their position in the top three of the table, but came away empty-handed after a disappointing loss.
Two goals from the excellent Biggerstaff put Prinner in front and although a superb effort by Andy Brown put Powick back in contention, Prinner made sure of the points with a goal by Tipton.
Although Powick could take positives from the performance, they will need to get back on track and return to winning ways against Perdiswell on Sunday in order to kick-start their promotion challenge.
PERDISWELL 3, MALVERN RADAR 2
MALVERN Radar were unlucky to come away empty-handed from Kempsey last Sunday in a Worcester League division one game they could have drawn at the very least.
An injury-hit Radar put in a spirited performance but it was Perdiswell who took the lead through Ryan Hill. Radar hit back almost immediately. Darren Loader's through ball was flicked on by Andy Bottomley and Joe Ball sneaked in to toe-end it into the bottom corner. Centre-half Clive Churchill put Radar in front when he powered in a fine header but the home side equalised almost straight away with a goal from Mark Smith.
The deciding goal came in the opening minutes of the second-half when Gary Harman mis-hit an attempted back pass and although Hill's initial effort was well saved by Ball, he made no mistake from the rebound.
Radar are without a game this Sunday.
DROITWICH SPA EAGLES 4, ANCHOR FALCONS 2
ANCHOR Falcons gave themselves a mountain to climb after conceding two early goals in this Worcester Sunday division two.
From 2-0 down and then 3-1 down they fought back to 3-2 and gave themselves every chance of their first point of the season, only for a late goal to kill off their hopes.
On target for the Falcons were Paul Park and Mike Griffin.
On Sunday, Anchor host Pillar of Salt when they will be hoping to finally turn their improved performances into points on the board. Players meet 9.45am at Dysons.
VILLAGERS 0, ST JOHN'S SPORTS 1
AFTER a good result again last week, it was time for the Villagers to come back down to earth again against St John's Sports.
Villagers did most of the attacking against a very defensive side who only looked like scoring from set pieces and this they did late in the game from a corner. Man-of-the-match was Jamie Plant.
On Sunday the Villagers will hope to have everyone available for training or possibly a friendly. Any clubs interested, call Nathan on 01684 891605 and leave your details.
