THE 17th annual charity skittles knockout competition at the Malvern Motor Cycle Club, held throughout the summer, again proved popular.
The event raised £2,140 by raffles, entry fees and donations by other fundraisers, which was handed over to Cancer Research UK, making a grand total of nearly £28,000.
The ladies' Margaret Fildes competition was played in great spirit throughout, with the trophy being clinched by the Muck Spreaders beating The Passengers on finals' night. The highest scorer was Maureen Hodges.
The men's competition, formerly the Beacon Trophy, was renamed this year as the Phil Rodway Memorial Trophy, in memory of Phil, who sadly passed away 12 months ago.
The men's matches were of a high calibre with Robbo's Lot coming out on top to beat Rejects A. In the semi-final, Robbo's Lot beat The Worthies, with Paul Jauncey getting a fantastic score of 54, making him the highest scorer on the night and of the whole competition.
The club would like to thank everyone who helped with the competition, the players for their support and Lorna Rodway for organising the competition for the ladies and Nick Taylor, with the help of Kevin Barnett, for the men's competition.
