HUNDREDS of pink balloons have been launched by a top Worcester employer to raise funds for Cancer Research.
Misys General Insurance, which employs more than 300 people at its Worcester base in Warndon, has pledged to raise more than £3,000 for Cancer Research UK by the end of the year. And if it reaches the target it will double the amount.
The company has organised other events including a pink elephant stall. a pink cake sale and a pink-themed pub quiz to put employees to the test.
Phillip Bell, chief executive officer, of Misys General Insurance said: "Thanks to the efforts of our staff in organising and taking part in various fund-raising events and activities throughout the year, we have already raised more than £2,000 for Cancer Research.
"Think Pink week is gathering a great deal of momentum and will no doubt contribute to us exceeding our target once again.
"The fact that the Worcestershire region alone needs to raise £400,000 for cancer to be controlled within the next two generations, makes our support absolutely vital."
