MORE criticism has been levelled at Evesham and Pershore Housing Association since it was reported that a Hampton couple had been waiting ten months for urgent repairs.

In a report in the Journal last week Samantha and James Conway revealed that a building attached to their home was subsiding, putting their family of six at risk.

Insurance assessors have been in to inspect the house, and rebuilding has been promised, but so far nothing has been done.

Now their neighbours, Nick and Denise Lewis have complained they have had the same problem and were yesterday also waiting for an inspector to call.

Mrs Lewis said: "Ever since we moved in more than two years ago we have complained about the cracks and we have metal supports keeping the building up." She said other householders in Bredon Crescent have similar problems.

Over on the other side of town, Rob Ducie from Pinder Heights along Conduit Hill said he was fed up with hearing that the housing association were keeping up with its repair programme.

He said: "I have been waiting for more than two years to have my windows fixed. They are leaking and draughty." He said that EPHA require a payment of £4 a week for communal services which includes window cleaning, although his windows had never been cleaned.

Press officer for the housing association, Toby Whiting disputed that there was anything wrong with the windows. He said: "Nearly 80 per cent of the windows in the flats have now been cleaned. Mr Ducie's were hard to reach but we think we have sorted the problem out now and they will be cleaned as soon as possible. Nevertheless the service to these people fell short of what is expected and for that we apologise. "

He said the outhouse problems were also unacceptable and where necessary the extensions would be demolished and rebuilt as soon as possible.
