WE are back in league action tomorrow and it's going to be electric under the lights at Sixways.

I think Friday night rugby is fantastic. People finish work, they have a drink and it seems even better than a Saturday, which is saying something. The lights definitely add a bit of atmosphere.

Sixways on a Friday night is one of the best places to play rugby. I think it will be an epic -- a well-contested, hard-fought game against Leeds.

From our perspective, it is important to get a win, given the results over the last three weeks.

And, from their perspective, they desperately need a win and are a side who do perform when their backs are against the wall.

There's a bit of tension around the place this week, which is always a good sign.

I missed the Leicester game after my brother battered my arm when we played Saracens.

But I'm pretty good at the moment and looking forward to it. A weekend off can have a dramatic effect on you, mentally as much as anything.

There are one or two guys who have had a bit of a break and they seem pretty switched on and focused.

We've had a few injuries but Chris Fortey has stepped up. He's training really well and he seems really focused. He's a big-game player and he's been around for a long time.

It's great to have Aisea Havili on board. We watched him train yesterday and he is frighteningly quick. It just adds a bit of poke and excitement to the back line.

You need guys like that in your squad. He played really well against us when we played Llanelli at the beginning of the season. It was a surprise that they let him go but he's going to be good for us.

Competition is always healthy in a squad. You need settled players but, at the same time, competition is massively important.

It keeps the pressure on and it creates consistent performances. You can't afford to have a bad week.

That's the difference between a good player and a great player. Good players perform three games out of five, great players perform every single week.

Consistency is massively important to the side. By increasing competition in the squad, what you are doing is increasing the consistency, which is fantastic and it is a rare entity.

There were some good individual performances in the Leicester game. Tim Collier went well. Kai Horstmann has been playing well for the last three or four weeks. He's had his opportunity and he's taken it, which is great to see.

He's a very talented player and he's got a great work ethic. I was with him at Quins and he didn't get as much rugby as he should have done. The move has been fantastic for him. The new environment has done him good.

I enjoyed last week with England. We trained very hard and there was quite a lot to get through. It was a change of environment, which freshens you up a bit.

Loughborough is a great facility. There's a real training ethic at the university. It is full of athletes and everyone is in the gym and it's buzzing.

It's a good atmosphere to train in and it's been good preparation for the Leeds game.
