THREE Wyre Forest blood donors have been honoured after each reached the milestone of giving 75 pints of blood.
The dedicated donors were presented with an Edinburgh crystal plate by the National Blood Service at a ceremony at the Chateau Impney, Droitwich.
Husband and wife, Janet and David Read, of Yellowhammer Court, Kidderminster, and Dave Elderton, of Fairfield Lane, Wolverley, could have, collectively, helped up to 675 people.
Mrs Read, 58, a secretary, started donating eight years before her 56-year-old carpenter husband after her father received eight units of blood.
Mr Elderton, a 49-year-old debt collector, started giving blood at the age of 18.
National Blood Service spokeswoman, Lyndsay Stewart, said: "Such dedication is rare so it's important to thank loyal donors like Mr and Mrs Read and Mr Elderton.
"We need to supply 8,000 units of blood every single day to hospitals around the UK so we rely entirely on volunteer donors."
