ROVERS boss Jimmy Mullen is refusing to get carried away on a tide of FA Cup euphoria, insisting his mind is firmly focussed on his side's next two games.

Mullen's men put on an excellent performance on Saturday to roll over Halesowen Town, who play in the Southern League Premier Division, 2-0 away from home to book themselves an attractive tie at home to Conference side Morecambe in the FA Cup 4th qualifying round. And although the FA Cup is the talk of the town at the moment, Mullen is not letting his players' minds wonder. He insists that he is not even thinking about taking on Morecambe yet, but concentrating solely on tonight's Southern League Division One West trip to Taunton Town (7.45pm kick off).

Going into the game, Taunton are sixth in the league, three points ahead of Rovers, who are 12th. Mullen is hopeful of a positive result though as he currently has no injury problems hampering his team selection. Once the trip to Somerset is out of the way, the manager will then turn his attention to the visit to the Victoria Ground of Beaconsfield SYCOB on Saturday in the FA Trophy 1st qualifying round, before even contemplating how he will approach the Morecambe game.

However, come Saturday evening, when Mullen has wound down from his side's latest game, it is inevitable that his mind will start to plot the downfall of Rovers' next opponents.

"I was delighted for the lads after the Halesowen game - they really deserved the glory,"he told The Advertiser/Messenger.

"One of the Halesowen management team told me after the game that with 20 minutes left when it was still 0-0 they were already hoping they could escape with a draw and a replay. That says it all about how well we played.

"But as for the Morecambe game, I have no thoughts about it whatsoever at the moment because I am concentrating firmly on our next two games.

"Hopefully we can get something at Taunton and then carry on our good cup form against Beaconsfield and then, and only then, will I start to think about playing Morecambe."

l Ticket prices for the Morecambe FA Cup match will remain the same as normal; £7 for adults and £3 for U16s and pensioners.
