YES, I agree with Sarah Blacklock about the litter and lack of courtesy around Droitwich, but please let's not lay the blame at our children's feet whenever a problem like this arises.

I am a mother of two children and I do hope, like many parents, that we are bringing our children up to be caring adults for the environment and the people around them.

I do get so fed up with hearing people criticising our children and our parenting most of us do try. Unfortunately in the world we live in today children do not have the innocence of a childhood. It was hard many years ago but the problems children and parents face today are different to what was faced many years ago.

Children no longer play outside much due to modern day problems, they do not enjoy school so much due to pressures of exams or political correctness, they do not have a childhood, they are continuously being criticised. Those people that criticise forget that they were once children themselves.

Isn't it lovely to see children enjoying their childhood, isn't it lovely to see children playing outside and laughing? I see children drop litter in a brief period of their innocent enjoyment and excitement of childhood, I see children push past people in their innocence, neither are in their spite of the environment and people.

I see adults drop litter but not in their innocence, I see adults push into people and definitely not in their innocence. What excuse do we have as adults?

For once let's look at this as a problem we all need to face and not lay the blame at our children's feet. Not all children are bad. This is a problem we all need to tackle, so let's start now and make Droitwich a far more plesant town to live in.
