STORIES by a Bromsgrove children's author are set to be the subject of an animated cartoon series.
Sharon Hopwood, from Brockhill Lane, Tardebigge, has been approached by Priodev Media to turn her 12 book series documenting the tales of Moo The Monster and his friends into a cartoon series with a view to showing it on children's TV.
Sharon's work is yet to be published, although she has recently been taken on by a literacy agency in the USA, and is close to finding someone to represent her work in the UK.
She said the inspiration behind the picture books, which are aimed at kindergarten and first school children, is her five-year-old stepson Connor.
"My passion has always been working with children and encouraging them to shine, and to do the very best that they can - but to have fun in the process," she said.
"Capturing the essence of the imagination of a five-year-old is a wonderful journey, reminding you of your past childhood - a time when anything was possible."
Marc Garfield, from Priodev Media, said: "The Moo stories take the child on an action-packed adventure in a zany and magical land full of loveable characters, pirate baddies and mischievous splodgers.
"We are incredibly excited about this project."
