A CARING father and son are lacing up their trainers to raise £3,000 by running in the New York Marathon.
Adrian and Chris Williams, from Wellington Road, Bromsgrove, have so far collected a fantastic £2,500 for Whizz-Kidz - a national children's charity which provides mobility equipment for disabled youngsters.
It is the pair's first marathon and they have been training hard since the spring.
The GP and NEW College student plumped for the US marathon instead of the London-based race so they could train throughout the summer for the November 6 run, instead of in the winter.
They hope the £3,000 raised will buy an electric wheelchair.
