JOB seeking residents in Droitwich Spa will now be able to access additional council services after the town's Job Centre was moved to new premises.
Job Centre Plus, which was based in St Andrew's Street, moved into Wychavon District Council's One Stop Shop, at the end of the High Street, on Monday.
The service will now be available from 10.15am to 4.30pm on Mondays to Fridays and will also include a Job Point, which the unemployed can use to find out about vacancies themselves.
The move is the latest service addition at the Wychavon shop, which already handles all inquiries about district council and county council services, as well as hosting a number of other organisations such as the Citizens Advice Bureau, the Older Peoples Forum and Disability Information.
David Hood, Wychavon's manager at the Droitwich shop, said: "We have been working with Job Centre Plus for a long time to make this happen and are delighted that they have come on board. They are an excellent and logical addition to the wide range of services that we can give the people of Droitwich, all under one roof."
Councillor Pam Davey, who is chairman of Wychavon District Council, said: "This is another brilliant example of partnership working and ensuring that local people get their services locally."
