A DROITWICH Spa nursing home is celebrating a second resident reaching 100-years-old in the space of a week.
Sarah Young, from The Priory in Crutch Lane, Dodderhill, celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends last Sunday.
Sarah was born in South Shields where her father worked for River Tyne police. She was one of ten children.
She met her husband Norman in 1930 and lived most of her life in Walton-on-the-Hill, Staffordshire. Sarah enjoyed walking along Cannock Chase and sewing when younger.
The centenarian enjoyed her party with loved ones at the home of her son Peter and daughter-in-law Margaret. Her great grandson Thomas said: "I think dear grandma had a wonderful day."
Another party will now be held today (Wednesday) at the residential home as a big thank you to all the staff for their care over the years.
The news of the 100th birthday celebration comes only one week after Lillian Cook, from the same home, enjoyed her special day.
l Elsie Gillett, from Holloway, also marked turning 100 last Saturday.
