A LUCKY Droitwich resident scooped £100 after entering a competition aimed at encouraging recycling.
Nicola Bird, from Meadow Road, had her ticket drawn out after entering the competition run by Worcestershire County Council.
Special tickets were distributed to every household around the county that has access to the roadside collection service.
Residents had to fill in their tickets and offer them up for recycling. They were then picked up by waste collectors and put into a hat with other entrants. The first ticket drawn out from each district won a cash prize.
A spokesman for the council said: "Recycling and reducing the amount of waste we produce in the first place are vitally important."
