EARLY pacesetters Peopleton suffered their first Division One defeat at the hands of the Bear as a second half strike from Andrew Griffiths sealed the Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League surprise.
Elsewhere, champions Ambassador accounted for Offenham Rovers with Smith and Beattie both netting twice, while Moreton Wanderers fell to another defeat as goals from Spencer and Ward gave visitors Upton Snodsbury the points.
Two goals from Mark Haughty edged Evesham WMC past Broadway in a match that produced four goals inside the opening 15 minutes.
Second division leaders Bretforton Old Boys suffered a surprise defeat at Alderton for whom Mitchell and Read scored.
Goals from Diamond and Crilley gave Bredon the spoils against local rivals Tewkesbury Town.
Willersey, meanwhile, recorded an excellent win at Defford and Besford thanks to goals from Robbie Hands (2), Andy Beale and Hughes.

Moreton Town march on at the top of the third division after hitting six past Wickhamford with Jamie Hurrell bagging a treble.
Gardeners won at Ashton with goals from Brotherton and Griffiths and two goals from Welch helped Queens grab a point at Norgren.
Fairfield Sports head Division Four after goals from Stanley, Martins and Crompton secured a win over Gate Inn.
Five goals from Huston led Lenches Lions to an emphatic win over Blue Maze. Royal Oak defeated Pebworth with veteran Dean Miles netting twice and Cider Mill won at Riverside with goals from Cox (2), Print and Bearcroft.
In the Knockout Cup, second division Shipston Excelsior shocked higher graded Inkberrow.
Four goals from Matty Staley and two from Grant Pinkney helped Red Horse account for Bengeworth Sports, while James Brown bettered that tally with five to add to three for Kays Sibanda as the Golden Cross and Bell United shared 17 goals.
Eckington reached double figures against Tesco with Steve Mather finding the net five times and Crowle defeated Pinvin with goals from James, Hibbert and Hayward.
