ARE you experiencing the "empty nest" syndrome? Looking for something different and enjoyable to do on a Sunday?
Then look no further - join the Arrow Valley Countryside Group for just £10 a year! Walks are held on three Sundays a month - two longer walks of eight to ten miles and one shorter walk of
five to six miles. Areas for walks are chosen by members, and destinations on our last programme included places such as Stourport, Stratford, Pershore, Gloucester and Hagley.
We also organise a social programme, usually one or two evenings each month. Recent speakers have included local author Meriel Hayes with an interesting and amusing talk entitled A Victorian Policeman's Notebook and Bill Cook, from Beckford Silk Factory, whose informative presentation included slides and samples.
The AGM is on Thursday, October 20 at 8pm in the Baptist Hall, Alvechurch. If you are interested in joining the group, call either 529716 or 522013. More details of the forthcoming programme are also available on the website, www.avcg.co.uk
