PRESIDENT Sheila Girvan welcomed members and a guest to the September meeting of the club, held at The Moat House, King's Coughton.

She thanked members for their attendance at their summer outing to Hanbury Hall in Droitwich and expressed her pleasure that the district chairman Dawn Williams had been able to join them for the afternoon.

After the business aspect of the meeting had finished, immediate past president Margaret Hood entertained everyone with a fascinating account of her visit to Vietnam to attend the engagement and wedding of her son. The ritual and customs surrounding these events were quite a contrast to western Christian weddings and Margaret accompanied her talk with many photographs and artefacts. A very pleasant evening was had by all.
