STUDLEY teenagers cooked up a three-course feast for community leaders at a special goodwill dinner.
The Studley Teenage Girls Club invited about 30 parish councillors, village headteachers and members of the church along for the delicious supper.
Youth worker Bev Ingram said the dinner was held to improve relations between young and old members of the community.
Diners at the Studley Youth Centre enjoyed a homemade banquet of egg mayonnaise or melon followed by shepherd's pie or chicken chasseur, served with fresh vegetables.
The meal was rounded off with a choice of peach flan or gateau, cheese and biscuits and coffee and mints. Some of the girls also performed a dance.
Ms Ingram said: "The girls did all the planning, budgeting and cooking themselves. They even designed their own invitations to send out.
"And when they discovered the allocated funds did not have enough for what they wanted to do, they held a car boot sale and raised £63."
Evidence of the work which went into planning the event was also on show and this will go towards the girls completing the challenge award scheme.
County councillor for Studley Hazel Wright, who attended the meal, said: "I was delighted to be invited along to the meal. It just goes to show how good the young people in our village are."
The teenage girls group meets at the High Street centre every Thursday from 7-9pm.
A session for boys and girls is held on Tuesday nights.
