PLANS to build 10 new apartments on the site of the former Lakeside Club were earmarked for refusal at Tuesday night's meeting of Redditch Council.
Council officers recommended members of the planning committee turn down the plans submitted by Trevita Homes on the grounds the development would reduce privacy for neighbours.
The plans included conversion of the old Prospect Road North club into nine one-bedroom apartments and one two-bedroom apartment. A car park with 10 spaces would also be created.
Officers also said: "The proposal would constitute an over intensive form of development that would lack adequate space and be detrimental to the amenities of the future occupiers of the apartment."
