LOVEBIRDS who tied the knot in Studley or Mappleborough Green are invited to renew their vows at a special service this month.
St Mary's Church in Castle Road is hosting a celebration of marriage event for couples married there, on Sunday, October 23.
The service will include some of the most cherished wedding readings, hymns and music, and couples will be able to renew their vows all together.
Couples are asked to bring along a photo of their wedding day. Bridesmaids, best men and family members are also welcome. Those who have been married in other places but feel a link with the Studley parish church are also invited.
One of the couples who will be attending the 3pm service will be John and Janet Parker, who tied the knot there 43 years ago. They had two vicars at their wedding service - serving vicar the Rev Atcheson and Canon Kemp, who came back from Oxfordshire to marry Janet as she was the first baby he baptised when he was Studley's vicar.
The Rev Richard Deimel said: "Both churches in Studley and Mappleborough Green are popular for weddings. In the ancient Studley church couples have been making more or less the same promises for 900 years. Culture may have changed but people have not. Marriage is still the best way to maintain powerful love between two people. We shall be celebrating that on October 23."
