STUART Watkiss is determined to ensure Martin O'Connor plays a role in Kidderminster Harriers' next Conference game at Aldershot on Saturday.
The veteran showed his influence in the engine room after returning from a three-game absence to help Harriers beat Morecambe 1-0 and grab their first home win in four games.
Watkiss admitted: "It's not a coincidence that the bad spell has been when he's not been there.
"It's evident how important he is to us with his leadership and organisational qualities. To have Martin there and Terry Fleming was a big bonus.
"Martin's a big personality around the place, it's not just about his football. That was reflected in the performance and how everyone bounced off him."
