WORCESTER based energy supplier npower has received a training award for its Health Through Warmth scheme.
The honour was given at the National Training Awards, at the ICC in Birmingham, in recognition of the firm's lasting success through training and personal development.
npower Health Through Warmth is a partnership with the NHS and National Energy Action which trains community workers, including nurses, health visitors, occupational therapists, police and firemen, to spot signs of ill health caused or exacerbated by living in cold or damp conditions.
By linking up with community workers, the scheme finds vulnerable people and ensures they receive practical help. A scheme is up and running in Herefordshire.
Elaine Midwinter, Health Through Warmth manager, said: "We are delighted to have won this award - it is a reflection of how hard the whole team have worked."
