TOP fund-raiser Tom Haynes doesn't monkey around when it comes to raising awareness about wildlife.
Mr Haynes, aged 65, is set to don his oran-utang costume on Sunday for a charity walk to raise funds for the World Wildlife Fund. And the WWF Malvern and Ledbury chairman has urged people to come along and join the fun.
He said: "It's very satisfying to see families and children out viewing nature on their own doorstep and it's all for a good cause."
Mr Haynes, of Columbia Drive, Lower Wick, Worcester, has previously donned tiger and panda costumes for the walk, which attracts more than 100 people. And he is set to complete almost 30 years for the charity event, having first signed up for the jaunt in 1976. This year, his efforts will be focused on raising funds for endangered oran-utans, the latest in a long line of species he has helped through fund-raising. Last year, the walk proved a roaring success, raising almost £5,000 for endangered tigers. Anyone who wants to take part in the seven-mile ramble through the Eastnor Estate deer park to the Malvern ridge and back should meet opposite Eastnor Castle estate on the A438 between 9am and 11am.
