WHILE there is a national drive to get more children reading books, pupils at a Worcestershire primary school have been given a great start.
The new library at Norton Juxta-Kempsey First School, in the village of Littleworth, just south of Worcester, has been officially opened.
Sue Lloyd, the headteacher of the school, which is attended by 175 children aged four to nine, said: "The new library is really good. It's bright and airy and modern.
"The children will have more access to more books to read.
"Parents and children have donated books."
Author Heather Buchanan opened the library on Wednesday. She also held writing workshops with some children.
