MALVERN Wells residents are being invited to have their say about the future of Wells House and the surrounding land.
The site of an old school which closed 14 years ago, the buildings have been derelict for many years and previous efforts to redevelop the site have failed.
Residents have expressed concern about the future of the land, which covers 3.5 hectares, and now the new owners JJSD Homes and their architects are to hold a public exhibition outlining their plans and asking for the views of local people.
The exhibition, Wells House - Have Your Say, is being held at Malvern Wells village hall on Friday, October 14, between 2pm and 7pm. Visitors will be asked to complete a questionaire.
The intention is to inform residents of the developer's plans for the historic buildings and look at possible uses for the rest of the site.
Most of this land is currently unused and residents are being asked for their response to ideas that would develop the land for the benefit of the community.
Suggestions include:
n A new access off the Wells Road leading to a parking area for 20 cars, which could be used by residents, hill walkers and users of the village hall.
n A 'pocket park' area around the village war memorial and nearby parking.
n An area of woodland or protect- ed green space covering between three and five acres, including wildlife zones and public access.
The developers JJSD Homes, a Devon-based company, purchased the site from the receivers earlier this year. Their Worcester-based architects Boughton Butler worked on the Croftdown School conversion.
