GRAHAM Turner believes the goals will come flooding again for Hereford United.
Shot-shy Bulls travel to Accrington Stanley in the Nationwide Conference tonight with a huge problem putting the ball in the net.
In previous seasons, United have suffered no problems in the goalscoring department. But it is a different story this term with just 13 league strikes to their name.
To further highlight Hereford's woes, both clubs currently struggling in the Conference relegation zone, Crawley Town and Burton Albion, have scored one goal more.
Manager Turner bemoaned the poor return and also the lack of creativity from his side, who are still counting the cost of injuries to Guy Ipoua, Adam Stansfield and Stacy Coldicott.
But with a collection of attack-minded players fit and at his disposal, he is confident United will soon hit the goalscoring trail again.
"We are not finishing off chances and not creating as many as we would like," admits Turner. "It's just one of those periods that we are going through.
"We are not playing too badly but, at the moment, we are not producing that final ball.
"It's a combination of a number of things. For instance, strikers go through spells where the goals don't flow and spells when they do.
"We've had nine different goalscorers this season but we have not put the ball in the net consistently enough.
"Our last three goals have come from strikers and that is positive. But I think we need to have more contributions from midfield and other areas. With the quality we've got in the squad, there is enough for us to score goals and they will come."
United will be missing Stansfield for more than six weeks following his double hernia operation on Wednesday.
There could be further misery in attack after on-loan striker Matt Bailey, who scored the opening goal in United's 1-1 draw with Canvey Island last Saturday, returned for treatment at Crewe Alexandra after suffering a dead leg.
Bailey is a doubt for tonight, although Graham Evans and Andy Williams are on stand-by to replace the lanky 19-year-old, while Rob Purdie has previously partnered Danny Carey-Bertram.
Centre-half Darren Blewitt also limped off against Canvey, but the West Ham loanee is fit to start.
Victory over Stanley will send Hereford into the play-off zone, albeit for possibly 24 hours until rivals play tomorrow.
But the Interlink Express Stadium has not proved a happy hunting ground for Hereford with 2-1 and 2-0 defeats there.
