A COUNTY council plan to convert the disused swimming pool at North Bromsgrove High School into an open air facility was branded 'ludicrous' by the governors. ROTARIANS in Bromsgrove were preparing to stage a Sale of the Century at the Drill Hall to raise cash for a charity venture to mark the international organisation's 75th anniversary. The group planned to install an additional toilet and 'medicbath' in Amphlett Hall, in Crown Close.
THOUSANDS of visitors were expected to visit Bromsgrove's Avoncroft Museum to see 18-year-old James Waterfield with his nose to the grindstone. He had been appointed the top tourist attraction's first full time miller at its newly operational windmill. The mill was capable of producing three to four hundredweights of flour per hour given a good 15 to 20 mph wind.
SPRING heeled Sally Larner, from Bromsgrove, a member of the Bromsgrove and Redditch Olympic Gymnastic Club, was second overall in an international competition against the country's best in a competition in Hampshire at the weekend.
