TRADITIONAL family board games are set to battle it out against the latest hi-tech toys to top the Christmas wish lists of children in Droitwich Spa.
With the big day little more than a week away, the Advertiser popped into Toyworld to find out what is hot this festive season.
Shop owner Michelle Shuttleworth said Robosapiens - a new remote control robot, had completely sold out.
The hi-tech toy, which has hundreds of features including being able to walk, pick up objects and do kung-fu, has proved particularly popular with boys.
"We had them in several times but they have sold out every time," she said.
Other top choices for boys include the new digital Scalextric and Bionical Lego kits.
The Hamley's toy store website features Spiderman Triple Action Web Blaster and the Lego Star Wars range as their top selling toys for boys.
According to Michelle, Lego is also a popular choice with the girls, with the new range of Clikits sets, which allows youngsters to make colourful jewellery and bedroom accessories.
"Even at this late stage we are still receiving deliveries of Lego because it is such a favourite," said Michelle, who has run the shop in its High Street location for 15 years.
"We have also been selling a lot of Bratz dolls, as well as Baby Annabell and Baby Born."
Hamley's have listed Barbie styling heads and Baby Annabell dolls as some of their most popular purchases for girls.
However, despite the popularity of many new toys, Michelle said train sets, craft materials and traditional board games like Monopoly and Trivial Pursuit were also selling well.
"Board games get more and more popular each year - I think people get bored of the television."
It was no surprise then that Monopoly was one of the top ten toys on the Hamley's website.
