Cresconians 1,
Evesham Ladies 0
AFTER the previous week's excellent start to the league courtesy of a 2-0 defeat of Malvern, last Saturday's early morning start was reflected in Eve-sham's display in the opening 20 minutes.
The hosts capitalised on that slow start and, after putting the defence under severe pressure, the opener finally arrived with a deflected strike from a short corner.
After harsh words from coach Lis Sterling, Evesham came out fired up for a much improved performance.
Good link-up play from Danni Cox, Karen Robinson and player of the match Emma Scott saw continued attacks on the Cresconians goal, while Alice Cook and Vanessa Dufty were denied by the goalkeeper.
Rhian Fuge and Tash Kuiper controlled the midfield with Katie Robinson linking well, while the defence of Scott, Taylor, Witheford and Mitchell remained firm as the first half strike proved the clincher.
Evesham entertain Droitwich at the High School on Saturday (1.30pm).
