organisers of the forthcoming Tenbury applefest are asking local people for their apple memories and photographs.
Residents, young and old, from Tenbury Wells and the Teme Valley are being urged to recall their memories and dig out their apple-related photographs for the forthcoming event.
Organisers are calling on all local people to get involved in the town's celebration on Saturday, October 22.
People are being invited to send old photographs, legends, memories, recipes, stories, tales of superstition, all on the topic of apples and orchards in and around Tenbury and the Teme Valley. Children especially are being urged to ask their grandparents, aunts and uncles to help.
Anthony Collis, from Malvern Hills District Council, is heading the applefest on behalf of the Tenbury Area Partnership.
He said: "We are very keen to display photographs of yesteryear, all related to apples, orchards or cider. As long as it's apple-themed, we would be most interested. We want to preserve the images and tales of today to become the memories of tomorrow.
"Our intention is to publish a book of Tenbury Fruit Lore which will capture the heritage and history, not only of apples, but also hops and mistletoe, all which made Tenbury famous."
