MOBILE LIBRARY: The Gloucestershire mobile library will visit the village on Tuesdays, October 11 and 25, calling at Collin Close at 2.40pm and the Bell Inn at 3.05pm.
NOTH COTSWOLD VOLUNTARY HELP CENTRE: The centre's hospital and medical appointments transport is available. Requests for transport should be made to 01608 651115, which is manned from 9.30am to 1pm Monday to Friday, at other times there is an answering service. Transport charges are 30p per mile.
MOBILE POLICE STATION: There will be no visit in October. The next visit will be on Tuesday, November 8 at 9.45am.
VILLAGE HALL: The annual meeting will be in the village hall at 8pm on Wednesday. This will be preceded by a committee meeting at 7pm.
COFFEE MORNING AND SALE: A coffee morning in aid of St Richard's Hospice will be held in the village hall on Saturday at 10am.
NATIONAL CHILDRENS' HOMES: A coffee morning will be held in the village hall on Saturday, October 29 at 10.30am.
ST PETER'S CHURCH: There will be no services between October 24 and November 9 while the church is closed for re-decoration. Services will be held at the Methodist Church or at Mickleton and Weston Subedge as notified in the village church news.
ST PETER'S COFFEE MORNING: The coffee morning held at Dereham House by permission of Mr and Mrs Basil Fox raised £268 for the church fabric fund.
WEDNESDAY CLUB: The autumn session began with the annual meeting. Mrs Lesley Goodliffe reported on another successful year which provided a variety of events. Mrs Goodliffe was re-elected chairman and the committee were re-elected en bloc. Following the annual meeting business, members took part in a quiz and then enjoyed tea.
The speaker at the next meeting on Wednesday will be June Firkin, who will talk on the subject of London Stores - History and Shopping.
The club meets fortnightly on a Wednesday afternoon and new members are welcome.
WILLERSEY FOOTLIGHTS: At the annual meeting, Neville Jelfs, chairman, gave a report on another successful year. The secretary/treasurer, Maurice Andrews presented the accounts, which showed a healthy balance and reported that over the years footlights had raised more than £10,000 for local organisations and other charities. The following were elected: Chairman, Neville Jelfs; secretary/treasurer, Maurice Andrews; vice-chairman and producer, Cathy Watts; together with an enlarged committee of ten.
The next show is scheduled for October 2006, for two nights, with rehearsals starting shortly.
