STOURPORT Jobcentre will close its doors for the final time tomorrow, with some services being transferred to the town's library.
People who are currently out of work in the town can arrange meetings with advisers at Stourport Library in Worcester Street.
A job point, which stores more than 400,000 vacancies, will be located on the ground floor of the building.
Those services will be transferred from the Bridge Street branch on Monday. They will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 9.30am and 1pm.
Jobseekers can also view vacancies at www.worktrain.gov.uk or can contact the Jobcentre helpline on 0845 606 0234. All new claims will have to be made at Kidderminster Jobcentre.
Jill Fairbrother Millis, who sits on both Wyre Forest District Council and Worcestershire County Council, has expressed concern about the amount of information available on the closure.
She added: "There does seem to have been a lack of communication and specific news about the closure has drifted into the background because it has been known for a long time that it was going.
"The signs placed on the windows give out a mixed message. I am sure that people who currently visit the Jobcentre have been told of the changes but what about those who lose their jobs over the coming weeks and months?"
Simon Ballinger, spokesman for Jobcentre Plus, said it strongly disagreed with the view that appropriate information about the changes was not made available.
He added: "For some time now, we have been looking at ways we can continue to support the local community, including working in partnership with other organisations to deliver our services from their premises.
"We have, therefore, worked with Worcestershire County Council and Stourport Library to refurbish part of the library - both the council and the library have been very supportive."
