A WOMAN gave a false identity when she tried to obtain £1,200 credit from a store.
Debbie Leary produced a driving licence in the name of another woman and a bank statement to back it up.
Staff at Comet in Kidderminster became suspicious, however, when she gave her own date of birth, which did not tally with the date on the driving licence.
Police found an envelope on her with a number of practise signatures on it, said Abigail Nixon, prosecuting at Worcester Crown Court.
Leary, 35, of Schofield Road, Kingshurst, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to deception.
Recorder David Tucker gave her a two-year community order after hearing she had spent more than four months in custody on remand.
Leary had 45 previous offences, mostly for dishonesty.
Her counsel Catherine Spedding said Leary was put up to the con by drug dealers she owed money to.
She had worked with drug agencies to conquer her addiction and was now free of the habit.
