TWO of the Birdseye Sports Evesham Sunday League's Division One big guns met in the second round of the Knockout Cup.

Both Ambassador and the Bear would have both held high hopes of success in this competition and those hopes were still intact after a goalless opening 45 minutes.

However, the Ambassador struck with goals from Brain, Dyer, Atkinson and Beattie to secure a comfortable passage.

An Ian Alcock treble carried Defford and Besford through against Tewkesbury Town, while a double from Ballard helped Gate Inn defeat Wickhamford. Offenham Rovers came from a goal down to defeat Queens thanks to three second half strikes.

Peopleton continued their perfect start in top flight as a Harvey strike defeated Mickleton Rangers, while Moreton Wand-erers edged out Evesham WMC 2-1.

Bretforton Old Boys top the second division following a five-goal win over Bredon with Lindley (2), Brown, Jones and Malins on target. Shipston moved second after a goal from Wells proved the difference against the Oddfellows.

Moreton Town moved to the top of Division Three in emphatic fashion after hitting ten past near neighbours Norgren. Jamie Hurrell netted three and Mike Barnes twice in the easiest of wins.

Phil Roberts struck yet another treble as Bell United defeated Sporting Theocs.

Broadway United Reserves opened their Division Four account defeating Tescos thanks to goals from Carenza, Cumberland, Dyke and Smith.

Fairfield Sports won at Cider Mill with a goal from Stanley, while Royal Oak defeated Lenches Lions with Wicks, Martin and Welch the men on the mark.
