A FUN day at the Vale Golf Club in Evesham turned into a memorable one for a young player from Cleeve Prior.
Robert Copperthwaite, aged 12 is the youngest to ever score a hole in one, his very first at a fun day at The Vale Golf Club.
Robert has managed to beat the previous record holder at the golf club, Jamie Carroll who managed to score a hole in one at the age of 16.
Now golf membership manager Jamie Carroll said: "The event was held over our nine hole Lenches course. Robert scored the hole in one on our 163 yard par three 4th hole. I'm not sure who was the most excited Robert or his dad."
Robert who has been playing golf for 11 months was stunned by his triumph likewise was his father, Noel Copperthwaite.
Mr Copperthwaite said: "We were all quite stunned by Robert's hole in one. I couldn't quite believe it and nor could the other players that we were playing with on the day. It was terrific to see because we were all talking about it afterwards and many of us admitted although getting a hole in one is a great feeling it was the first time we had actually seen one."
The Vale, a Crown Golf club, has a thriving junior membership of over 100 young members.
