RECENTLY Biffa Waste Services have re-submitted an application for a licence to begin a landfill at Hartlebury Quarry.
This will be the third landfill in the area over the years and is too much.
The impact of another site will affect residents from Hartlebury, Elmley Lovatt and Cutnall Green.
These villages will have to deal with increases in traffic as lorries travel to and from the site in addition to risks to quality of life from smells and vermin.
I would urge all residents of the area to object strongly to the granting of a licence by writing to the Environment Agency by October 14.
The address to write to is: Hartlebury Quarry Objection, SPG Bristol, Environment Agency, c/o Motion Media Technology Centre, Severn Bridge, Aust, Bristol B35 4BC.
Without a licence Biffa cannot begin to tip and it is time that the old quarry was used as an amenity - such as a nature reserve - for the village of Hartlebury rather than yet another dump.
