I AGREE with the views expressed in the letters about bus services in last week's Shuttle/Times & News.

Bus users may be very surprised to know that there is a local forum called the Bus Quality Partnership.

This forum comprises representatives from the council, the bus operators and users of the bus services and its brief is to "develop a programme of improvements to provide a safe, efficient and convenient public transport system for the Wyre Forest area".

Local bus users would be very interested to hear the views of those who represent them on this partnership following the recent cuts in the service .

All we hear from First Bus is that these cuts are made for commercial reasons.

The county council has the power to enter in to a Quality Contract with a bus company.

This would be a long-term contract and would cover all aspects of the service including fares, timetables, frequency of the service, quality of the buses and easier connections with other services.

The Bus Quality Partnership is clearly failing. A contract with a bus company to provide a service covering both profitable and socially necessary services is needed now.
