KIDDERMINSTER Lions have roared to the top with an unbeaten start to their Stourport and District Youth League under-nines Divis-ion One season.
Four victories and a draw out of five matches have lifted the Lions into pole position with last Saturday's 0-0 draw at Ferndale Youth the only game they have failed to win.
They opened their campaign with a 2-0 win against Wyre Forest Panthers and have since hammered Wyre Forest Panthers Youth 10-0.
Lions continued their super start by beating Areley Kings 4-1 and securing a 2-0 victory at Ferndale Flyers.
The team has new kits and tracksuits thanks to sponsorship from Express Tool Hire, of Lisle Avenue, and All Electric Garage, Churchfields.
Sean Merryweather was the five-goal hero as Mostyn Rangers overwhelmed Redditch United 12-0 in their U-15s, while David Lilley hit a hat-trick.
Ferndale Flyers U-14s Youth beat Evesham 4-1 in round one of the League Cup with only 10 players. Nicole Mathews bagged a brace with Rebecca Jones and Shanice James also scoring.
The U-14 Flyers team only fielded nine in their friendly against Worcester but goals from Emma Lacey and Taima Bain helped them to a 2-2 draw.
